APPEARANCE: Long red hair, bronzed skin, her eye color varies between blue, red amber and brown. She wears a combination of armor and cloth clothing with a breastplate, chainmail, fingerless gloves with bracers and knee high heavy boots of metal and leather. She also wears and uses red tinted goggles. When she is angry or her powers are in use, her hair turns into flames and her eyes glow yellow. Her hands become wreathed in flames. CANON POINT: After her encounter with Sarkhan Vol in Zendikar, when she 'walks away. MEMORY LOSS: Temporary memory loss maybe as well as a disruption of powers. PERSONALITY: Chandra draws her magic from red mana, which lies in the very bones of the earth; in mountains and volcanoes; in lava and rocky crags. It is frenzy, it is passionate, untamed, reckless energy. It fuels her personality with those traits. It's fiery nature is at the very core of her being, some times making her too rash or shortsighted. At other times, it makes her dynamic and unbound, enabling her to tap even greater potential. From a very young age, she was always free willed and temperamental. She grew up for the most part in a plane where fire magic was considered evil/bad/not good. But was a natural pyromancer, so she continued to learn and develop her abilities without concern.
When her family decided to marry her off in order to try and 'settle her down'. She lashed out, impulsively using fire to scare them away. Her rash behavior had dire consequences however, and her family and village paid the price. Her dislike of authority might have begun with her parents, but it was solidified when soldiers burned her family along with the rest of the villagers, believing them to be fire worshiping rebels. Regardless of when it started, it was fully developed some years later when she was pitted against the Order of Heliud (yet another fanatical group of fire haters). (My head cannon thinks that her hatred of authority began with her familyt/village and only grew from there.)
Aside from being a hellion, she is also compassionate and caring, wiling to sacrifice and endanger herself for others. When the 'Mind mage' Jace Beleren came after her for the Dragon Scroll, he used a child to get to her. Chandra went out of her way to ensure the safety of the child. Later, when her new adopted home, Keral Keep, came under attack by a group of fanatics calling themselves the Order of Heliud, she surrendered herself rather than allow the people there to die for her sake, even when they were willing to.
After her dealings with the Order, Chandra does seem to gain some focus and control over herself and her fire abilities. Her guilt for the death of her family and village, expunged, she is a little more forgiving or at least tolerant of others. She still hates authority figures, but is less likely to blow someone up because she is having a bad day.
Chandra can appear to be naïve some times. After all she allowed a vampire to lead her towards the Eye of Ugin, but stopped him from feeding on her, by pretending to be asleep and then kicking his butt (face) with a boot. When timely help arrived in the form of a madman named Sarkhan Vol, she followed him to the Eye of Ugin without really questioning why he would take her. Later, when Sarkhan Vol turned out to be not such a nice guy(and actually became a dragon), she accepted the advice of a former adversary Jace Beleren, without question and used his suggestion to defeat Sarkhan temporarily.
While she is impulsive, quick tempered (etc, etc,etc) she can be pretty cunning and clever on her own and from time to time, uses foresight, such as when she had copies of the Dragon Scroll made before Jace 'the mind mage' Beleren showed up and took it after fighting her for it. (personally, I think it was more a plot point than because she was overly clever or forwards thinking, but I'll roll with the 'canon' in case they end up with more examples of her not jumping head first into problems.)
And more to answer the direct question of who is important in her life: Planeswalkers from other realms because they usually clash, Gideon a white mana using planeswalker, Jace Beleren a blue mana planeswalker, and Mother Luti at Keral Keep. Chandra also hates forests. She prefers mountains and rocky vistas to well lots of green (in case that is relevant)
