YOUR CHARACTER NAME: Goergia Carolyn Mason JOURNAL:comefollowmedown FANDOM: The Newsflesh Trilogy AGE: 22 APPEARANCE: A relatively short young woman with short, dark hair and a medium skin tone. She is often in slacks and a button down shirt, her appearance seeming quite professional. Unless she happens to be wearing her cornflower blue contacts, she'll be in sunglasses, used to shield her eyes from harmful light, as she has a vision problem. CANON POINT: At the end of Feed. MEMORY LOSS:Yes, I would like her to only have scattered memories of her life, though she does remember how she died, someone shooting her in the head. I want her to have the vague sense that it was done out of love but not understanding why. She'll be fuzzy and out of sorts, knowing only a fraction of her life but having the driving need to find out more about that world, and eventually the one she's landed in.
WIKI/HISTORY: Georgia comes from a world where zombies have risen. She and her brother Shaun were orphaned in the Rising and afterwards, were adopted by the Masons, a family who had lost their young son.
Fo9r a very long time, Georgia didn't realize that her parents were both using them for ratings, to stay in the public eye. Although there may have been genuine love there, it really didn't matter as much as the fact that the Masons needed to stay in the spotlight, finding it to be the easiest way to cope with the lost of their actual child.
As this was happening, Georgia found herself becoming intrigued with journalism. She dragged Shaun for the ride and eventually, they started their own news site After The End Times.
They meet Buffy, the future fictional and tech girl, and the three of them team up to be a relatively popular website in the bay area of California.
But all of them have stronger ambitions than that and so they go after the biggest job they could manage: the Presidential election.
They manage to get it, which leaves all of them glowing. Unfortunately,, they had no idea that it would be a long string of tragedies, betrayal and blood.
There are attacks on several places including one of the places the candidate they were following was speaking at and his wife's home, and slowly, the group, with a new member from one of the other candidates, they learn that it's actually a plot set up by Ryman's running mate.
Unfortunately, they don't really get the proof until Buffy gets killed, revealing to them that she had been working for the man the entire time. She thought she was doing what was good for the country but then people started dying. In her last attempt to make it right, she tells Georgia and Shaun what's been going on and gives all the information she can provide so that the Masons and Rick can take him down.
They head back to the convoy intending to get in contact with Ryman but on the way to the trailer, Georgia gets shot with a needle full o9f the zombie virus.
She manages to stumble into the van that their equipment in housed in and types out one last report, telling the world what happened and attaching the information that Buffy left them to the document.
She keeps writing until she can't anymore, until she's typing gibberish and then, as she requested, her brother shoots her in the back of the head.
PERSONALITY:Georgia is one of nature's burn leaders as well as a born journalist. She's bright, cynical and determine dot find the truth. She manages people well, though it is in her own strange way, and she is quick to determine faults and weaknesses as well as good points.
She is strong, proud and damn competent. She knows what she's doing and how to do it the best and most efficient way possible, occasionally manipulating others into doing what she needs, although she tries to avoid lying to them.
She holds people at arms length most of the time, or so it seems. Shaun is the only person you may perceive her actually liking, although she has friends and people she cares about. She just also seems to have a working relationship that matters just as much (if not more than) her outside relationships with them.
Shaun is her weakness, he is her everything. With how she grew up, her parents exploiting the two of them for ratings and such, she grew to depend on him and only him. he is everything she can depend on and he is the one person who knows her inside and out.
Up until the very end, it was assumed that he would die before her and, although she never said it to anyone, she knew she wouldn't last long after he died.
She has a wry, sarcastic sense of humor that doesn't often show itself, though it will on occasion. Beyond that, she tries to maintain an outer shell of hard edged, tear you to pieces attitude, someone who will not hesitate to break you down and show the world your insides, if that's what you deserve.
As was stated above, she is a natural journalist.
There is no gooey center to Georgia, she is not sappy in the center or any of that. That's not to say she's utterly hard and cold either, it's just that, the was she expresses affection, complimenting someone on what a good job they've done rather than anything else, is her own way of being kind and affectionate. You may have to get to know her to realize that what you have with Georgia is a friendship but it will happen eventually. POWERS: None, Georgia is human.
RP SAMPLE:Georgia spots the box on her way home. She’s on her bike and Shaun is in the van with Buffy already having been dropped off for the day.
She slows down, driving a circle around the box once before killing the engine and getting off to examine it.
"What the hell," she mutters, hearing the hum of technology coming from within. While she's not completely dense, she also hasn't got the faintest idea of what it could be.
One hand reaches out, brushing the top of the box,. "What is this?" She looks for any tell tale signs or really anything at all that she could work with, but nothing catches her eye.
Eventually, she winds up looking to Shaun. "Should we open it?"
She doesn't doubt that he's going to say yes, knowing him, but she can't help but ask. Even if she is terribly curious herself.
